You Me Bum Bum Train Event @ Cordy House

You Me Bum Bum Train Event
Cordy House, 87-95 Curtain Road, Shoreditch, EC2 3SB,
Friday May 30th and Saturday 31st, 2008, 9pm - 3am
Press Launch 6pm, Friday 30th May

Described as "episodic live interactive installations", You Me Bum Bum Train is the brainchild of artists Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd. It represents a new branch of experimental theatre. The event, now in its fourth year, has received high critical acclaim. "What has been one of London's more obtuse treasures looks set to become one of Great Britain's proudest moments." was Dazed and Confused's reaction last year. (Thomas Viney, June 2007). Fleur Britten said in The Sunday Times "I can wholeheartedly recommend You Me Bum Bum Train! It leaves you questioning everything. And it's lots of fun."

Laura Buckley & Alexis Harding @ Bruuns Bazaar

Gallery Carter presents: Laura Buckley & Alexis Harding
14 May - 4 June 2008
Bruuns Bazaar, 48 Albemarle St., London W1S 4JL

Carter Presents with Bruuns Bazaar is a new gallery space on Albemarle Street in Mayfair, London. The new Bruuns Bazaar project space is devoted to providing a platform for artists to develop new work. The gallery on Albemarle Street, Mayfair, is in a listed Georgian building and comprises of two inter-connected rooms. The concept and format for the exhibition is two solo shows in self-contained spaces where each artist's practice interrelates and plays off of the other.

For the inaugural exhibition, Laura Buckley and Alexis Harding, two London based artists, each separately explore materiality through a conceptual framework initially influenced by modernist reductionism. Both artists approach their medium (painting and film projection) in a sculptural manner, expanding the traditional boundaries of the support/screen.
